The city-based Saraf Foods Ltd (SFL) has expanded production capacity at its freeze drying plant here to 7 tonnes a day from 5 tonnes a day.
The capacity has been expanded in view of the launch of the company’s “Pure Bitez” products in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa, said SFL, an export-oriented unit established in 1993.
“The reason behind capacity expansion is to foray into retail market. SFL has already established its presence in the US, Europe and other global markets,” the company’s Managing Director, Mr Suresh Saraf, said today.
The company has captured a major chunk of Indian market for freeze dried food products, he said. Pure Bitez is vaccum freeze dried snacks, which are light in weight and easy to carry while travelling. Two products under the brand are dried sweet corn and dried sweet corn roasted.
