The Indian subsidiary of Swedish industrial machining tools maker Seco Tools AB is setting up an additional manufacturing facility adjoining its existing plant in Pune to double its present production capacity.

It has also shifted its Asia-Pacific headquarters to India.

Lars Bergstrom, Group President and CEO, Seco Tools, said that the company will sharpen its focus on India through a multi-disciplinary approach.

“The Indian economy may have faced a hiccup for the time-being but the country’s infrastructure, construction and farming sectors hold significance promise,” Bergstrom said.

The company is gearing up to expand its manufacturing base in India not only to cater to the growing needs of the domestic market but also to the requirements of international market, he added.

As a part of the company’s expansion drive, Seco Tools is putting up a reconditioning centre in Pune which will be operational from the third quarter of this fiscal.
