Riding on higher sales, Shree Cement on Thursday clocked a nearly three-fold rise in net profit to Rs 38.49 crore for the second quarter of the current fiscal as against a net profit of Rs 10.53 crore posted in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal.
Net sales rose to Rs 854.64 crore during the current quarter compared with Rs 717.59 crore a year ago.
Cement business contributed Rs 848 crore to the company’s top-line and the power segment Rs 80 crore.
Consumption of raw material and power and fuel costs stood at Rs 95.38 crore and 203.31 crore, respectively, during the quarter under review.
