Siemens Gamesa continues to make inroads in the Indian solar market bagging its largest solar order of 250 MW from Sprng Energy at Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh.

Sprng Energy, a renewable energy platform wholly owned 100% by Actis, has over 1,650 MW of renewable energy projects across India.

Under the contract, Siemens Gamesa will provide a comprehensive EPC solution that includes the engineering and design of the solar farm, procurement of the balance of plants, supply of 2.25 and 2.5 MW 1500 V Gamesa Electric inverters, and the installation and commissioning of the photovoltaic solar power plant at Anantapur.

Gaurav Sood, Chief Executive Officer of Sprng Energy said, "We are partnering with Siemens Gamesa for the construction of our 250 MWac / 385 MWdc solar project in the Anantapur solar park to supply solar power at a tariff of Rs 2.72/kWh to NTPC. Siemens Gamesa India entered into the solar business in 2015 offering a wide spectrum of solutions, including EPC solutions for MW-scale solar projects, off-grid and hybrid solutions. As of today, Siemens Gamesa India has commissioned over 400 solar MW in India and currently executing several large solar projects in the country.
