Flipkart has appointed Smriti Krishna Singh as Chief Human Resource Officer, a position that was not filled for 18 months, after Nitin Seth, COO at Flipkart, who also headed HR quit last May, citing personal reasons. Since then, the CEO of Flipkart Kalyan Krishnamurthy took over additional charge of the HR function. Smriti began her career at Xerox India, followed by GE in India and then held various leadership roles in Tokyo, New York and Singapore before joining Sony Pictures Networks.
In an email to employees on Tuesday, Kalyan Krishnamurthy, CEO of Flipkart said, Smriti will be part of the leadership team at Flipkart and report to him. “She will be joining Flipkart on December 3rd and will be relocating to Bengaluru. Please join me in welcoming Smriti to the Flipkart family.”
