Steel Secretary Rakesh Singh has been given additional charge as the Chairman and Managing Director of Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL). The decision came late on Wednesday night after the Appointments Committee of Cabinet denied an extension of tenure for the former Chairman and Managing Director C S Verma.
The Public Enterprises Selection Board will now seek for a full time replacement. The whole process is expected to take another six months.
