Suzlon Group has announced it has bagged a maiden order of 105 MW from Greenko Group to be executed in Andhra Pradesh.
The wind energy company in a statement has announced that the 105 MW order entails setting up of a S97 120 m 2100 kW Wind Turbine Generator with a hybrid tower for the independent power producer (IPP) Greenko Group with a total operating capacity of 1 giga watt (1000 MW).
The project to be located in Andhra Pradesh will be progressively commissioned by January 2017.
Ishwar Mangal, Chief Sales Officer, Suzlon Group, said, “It is a clear indication of the traction in overseas IPPs’ engagement with sustainable renewable technologies such as wind energy. The Centre’s thrust on renewables and its conducive policies have encouraged IPPs to foray into the renewable energy sector. Today, IPPs are integral to our capacity build-up in India.”
