Tata Motors said on Tuesday that the company's global sales rose 16 per cent in January to 98,998 units.
Cumulative sales, including the Jaguar Land Rover brands, for the April 2010 to January 2011 period stood at 868,583 units, higher by 27 per cent compared to the corresponding period in 2009-10.
The global sales of all commercial vehicles under the Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera brands grew 14 per cent to 45,815 units in the month. Meanwhile, total passenger vehicles sales rose 17 per cent to 53,183 units.
Jaguar Land Rover individually sold 25 per cent more vehicles at 20,377 units. Of this, Jaguar sales rose 3 per cent at 3,056 units, while Land Rover sales were higher by 30 per cent at 17,321 units. Global sales of Tata passenger vehicles and the distribution of Fiat cars in India were at 32,806 units, higher by 13 per cent.
