Homegrown auto major Tata Motors has reported a 2.46 per cent increase in its net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2010, at Rs 410 crore.
The net profit stood at Rs 400.14 crore in the same period last fiscal, Tata Motors said in a statement.
Net sales during the October-December quarter stood at Rs 11,458.95 crore against Rs 8,923.99 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal, it added.
During the period under review, consumption of raw materials and components cost stood at Rs 6,498.97 crore (Rs 4,975.29 crore). Vehicle sales during the quarter were at 1,94,085 units against 1,65,413 units in the same period last fiscal, it said.
The company shares closed the session at Rs 1,144.65 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, up 3.79 per cent from the previous close.
