Tata Motors today launched a new variant of its sports utility vehicle (SUV) Safari Storme in the country with prices starting at Rs 10.86 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
The new edition, ‘Tata Safari Storme Explorer’, comes with customised outdoor essentials and a host of technology features, Tata Motors said in a statement.
The variant comes with a slew of features, including a navigation device, cycle carrier, cargo basket and roof-mounted canopy, it added.
Safari Storme Explorer is powered by 2.2 litre Varicor diesel engine, turbocharged with variable turbine technology and delivers 140 PS power and 320 NM torque.
The launch of the variant comes at a time when Tata Motors is looking to increase its sales in an overall sluggish auto segment.
The company’s sales were down by 59.59 per cent at 8,546 units in July this year compared to the same period last year.
Earlier this month, the company had launched the Tata Safari Storme in Nepal.
