Tata Power Ltd through its joint venture company Industrial Energy Ltd has synchronised the second 67.5 MW unit of its 202.50-MW Kalinganagar project.

Last week the first unit of 67.5 MW was synchronised with the grid.

The units use waste and other gases from Tata Steel furnaces as a fuel for power production.

With the new unit coming on stream, Tata Power’s total generation capacity has increased to 9,100 MW from 9,036 MW.
