Texmaco Rail & Engineering has secured an order for 255 wagons valued at Rs 117.03 crore from Bangladesh Railways. Mr A.K. Vijay, CFO of Texmaco Rail, told Business Line that the delivery of the wagons has to be completed by the end the current financial year. The company has also obtained order for 70 wagons for Rs 12.43 crore from Africa. The current order book position stands at Rs 1,528 crore. For 2011-12, the company received orders for 4,670 wagons from Indian Railways. During the financial year the total orders, including private orders, for the company was for 5,837 wagons. The company said that the proposed manufacturing unit for EMU and metro coaches was currently under construction at Texmaco's Sodepur unit in West Bengal. Its 50:50 joint venture unit, with UGL Rail of Australia, for production of locomotives and freight cars, is expected to be commissioned in October. These products would mainly be for exports. The company board has recommended a dividend of 100 per cent or Rs 1 a share, same as the last year. It reported a net profit of Rs 93.06 crore in FY2012 (Rs 121.48 crore).
