TI Cycles has entered into an agreement with Ridley Bikes Belgium acquiring its brand licensing rights for India and neighbouring countries.
This will enable the Murugappa Group company to introduce high-end Ridley brand cycles in the domestic market.
According to a TI Cycles press release, Ridley Bikes is a leader in bicycle technology in using carbon and alloy materials that enhance performance in road, cyclocross and mountain bikes. They hold numerous patents for aerodynamic design of frames and forks.
The 33-year licensing right will strengthen the market share for TI Cycles. With the introduction of Ridley Bicycles in India, both the companies plan to promote professional cycling and provide a platform for Indian riders to get global exposure.
Arun Alagappan, President, TI Cycles, said the Ridley range will be available in India from November-end. The cycles will be priced between ₹ 40,000 and ₹ 4 lakh.
