Personal care products manufacturer Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care (P&GHHC) reported an 8 per cent increase in net profit at ₹90 crore for its third quarter ending March 31.
The company, which follows a July-June financial year, saw sales grow 23 per cent during the quarter to ₹699 crore, from the corresponding period last year.
During the quarter the company’s raw material consumption jumped by 85 per cent.
“We have delivered strong double-digit growth for the third consecutive quarter this year driven by robust volume growth, category development and execution excellence,” said Madhusudan Gopalan, Managing Director, P&GHHC in a statement.
Both the feminine care and healthcare businesses recorded double-digit growth, it said.
P&GHHC is the listed entity of Cincinnati-headquartered P&G, which also runs another listed entity called Gillette India Ltd. It also has a 100 per cent unlisted subsidiary in India called Procter and Gamble Home Products Pvt Ltd. P&G India is a fast-growing consumer goods company that makes brands such as Vicks, Ariel, Whisper, Olay, Gillette, Ambipur, Pampers, Pantene, Oral-B, and Head & Shoulders.
