Mr Rajiv Duggal will be the new Managing Director of Kuoni India effective May 1. He will take over from Mr Zubin Karkaria, the CEO and Managing Director of Kuoni India, who has been appointed as Non-executive Chairman of the company.
Apart from holding Non-Executive Chairman's position, Mr Karkaria will also be the CEO and Managing Director of VFS Global – which has business operations in 50 countries handling over eight million visa applications annually for 35 diplomatic missions. VFS Global, launched in 2001, is one of the world's leading outsourced consular services company and is looking to expand its global operations.
Mr Karkaria will continue to play a role in the strategic decision making process of the company, said a statement from Kuoni.
Mr Duggal, a travel industry veteran, has had a career spanning over 19 years in the travel, hospitality and retail industries in India and South East Asia, said the statement. He is currently the COO of TUI India. He was the CEO of Select Citywalk, part of the Select Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. Mr Duggal was with Kuoni India from 2001 to 2005 – spending the last year as Senior Vice-President of the Tour Operating Division – after which he was appointed as the CEO India and South East Asia of Destinations of the World Pvt Ltd until 2008.
