Private power producer Torrent Power Ltd on Thursday posted a standalone net profit of Rs 17 crore on a total income of Rs 2,469 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2016.
The company further said that figures for the quarter ended March 2016 and March 2015 are the balancing figures between audited figures for the full financial year ended March 31, 2016, and March 31, 2015, and the published year-to-date figures up to the third quarter of the respective financial years.
In the corresponding quarter last year, the company's standalone net profit stood at Rs 369.43 crore on a total income of Rs 2,545 crore.
For the financial year 2015-16, the company posted a net profit of Rs 816 crore, which is 10 per cent higher than Rs 742 crore in the previous year. Total income from operations for the financial year stood at Rs 11,633 crore as against Rs 10,247 crore in the previous year.
On a consolidated basis, Torrent Power posted a net profit of Rs 26 crore as against Rs 182 crore in the corresponding quarter a year-ago. Total income stood at Rs 2,481 crore for the quarter against Rs 2,589 crore in the same period last year.
Consolidated profit for the full year 2015-16 stood at Rs 867 crore against Rs 363 crore in the previous year. The company reported total income for the year at Rs 11,687 crore against Rs 10,396 crore last year.
Torrent Power shares fell by over 11 per cent to Rs 201.90 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday.
