VA Tech Wabag has reported a 35 per cent drop in net profit on a consolidated basis for the third quarter of the current year against the comparable previous quarter.
The Chennai-based multinational company in water and wastewater treatment has reported a net profit of ₹14.08 crore (₹21.66 crore) on a total income of ₹619.41 crore (₹589.30 crore) for the quarter ended December 31, 2015. The board has decided to issue bonus shares on a 1:1 basis to enhance liquidity in the stock market.
On a standalone basis, the company has reported a 7 per cent growth in net profit during the quarter at ₹17.67 crore (₹16.45 crore) on a total income of ₹296.03 crore (₹291.18 crore).
Order intake during the quarter was ₹665 crore taking the order book to ₹6,973 crore.
