Viraj Kalyani, Executive Director, Kalyani Forge (KFL), and industrialist Baba Kalyani’s nephew, has launched his entrepreneurial venture, Kalyani Studio. The engineering and designing (E&D) company will cater to industries such as railways, automotive, aerospace, agriculture and construction equipment.
Viraj Kalyani will continue to work with KFL, with his portfolio including focus on group synergies and strategies.
“You could call it a start-up in the high-strength E&D segment, with plans to scale up. This is a new category of engineering work, doing highly specialised work in the E&D industry,” Viraj Kalyani told BusinessLine over the telephone. “We will based out of Pune. We are looking at multi-fold growth over the next year, and I think we will have a judicious mix of internal and external funding for growth.”
As of now, the investments have come in from Kalyani’s personal capacity. He, however, declined to divulge the details of the investment. The company expects the next wave of growth to come from design, the next logical progression for the sector.
