Visaka Industries Limited has displayed the benefits of one its products, the ATUM, an integrated solar rooftop, by showcasing smart pushcarts installed by the product.

Eighteen pushcarts were installed with ATUM on their roof and were converted into a ‘Smart Carts’. Each ‘Smart Cart’, with a capacity to generate 1-1.5 units and 1280W of energy, were donated to vegetable vendors.

A publicly listed manufacturer of sustainable and innovative products, Visaka had introduced ATUM in December 2018. The product is an integrated solar roofing system, and is ideal for homes, complexes, malls, offices, factories and warehouses.

These 18 carts worth ₹7,20,000 were donated to vegetable vendors at the Dr BR Ambedkar Open University in Hyderabad.

Vamsi Gaddam, Joint Managing Director of Visaka Industries, said, “The creation and distribution of ATUM Smart Cart is a testimony of our commitment to creating a sustainable living for our future generations. The ‘Smart Cart’ is a fully functional solar cart that can generate electricity. The company will continue donating Smart Cart to the budding local vendors.”

The ATUM Smart Cart is not for commercialisation but is designed only for charity purpose. A regular cart fitted with ATUM generates 1 to 1.5 units a day and can power a light bulb, a fan and a mobile phone. It is weather resistant, eco-friendly and sustainable while providing a resting space for the vendor.
