Vishal Kaul, Chief Operating Officer at Ola, who had joined the cab hailing app in February 2017, has resigned to move on to another “exciting career opportunity’’.

Kaul had quit Pepsico as its Country Head of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos to join Ola last year. Pallav Singh, Senior V-P at Ola, would be taking over Kaul’s responsibilities in the interim.

Confirming the development, Ola in a statement said: “Ola would like to thank Vishal Kaul for his invaluable contributions to the company. He has had a very good innings. We at Ola wish him well for all his future endeavours.”

Stating that he had immensely enjoyed his stay at Ola, Kaul said: “The company has been like a family to me. I take great satisfaction and pride that I have been part of the journey where Ola has exhibited strong growth, improved profitability and gained significant market share. While I am moving on to another exciting career opportunity, I will deeply miss the Ola family,” he added.

This is the second top management exit at Ola in the last three months. In February this year, Yugantar Saikia, head of human resources and chief administrative officer, who joined Ola in January 2015, had resigned.

Ola had roped in one of the largest audit companies to investigate fraudulent practices that Saikia was allegedly guilty of. The company said it had no further updates to share on the investigations. In the meanwhile, Ola had hired former Procter & Gamble executive, Susheel Balakrishnan, as its Chief People Officer last month.
