“If you experience the ‘Heavenly bed' that Westin Hotels, part of Starwood group, offers in its hospitality chain across the globe, you would love to own one at home. Globally, Westin has sold over 30,000 such beds, and we now offer them in India,” Mr Stephane Fabregoul, General Manager, Westin Hyderabad, says.

Westin chain, however, does not retail the product and only offers it to its hotel guests.

“Since its launch in 1999, the bed that Westin chain offers has not only attracted customers to visit our properties again, but it has lured many of them to ask a familiar question while leaving the hotel: ‘Can I have this set up at my home?' This has triggered us to offer them to our customers and there is no looking back ever since,” he says.

Specially designed for Westin, the beds are sourced from Siemens in Europe. The ten-layered bed provides a high level of comfort and prompts guests to request one for their home, he says. “We go to their home and set it up and train the maid on how to make this special bed,” he says.

Priced at Rs 1.99 lakh, the bed comes with a mattress, two bed-sheets and pillows. Asked what differentiates it from the rest, he replies: “The best way is to try it and you won't like to get out of it”. In India, the bed is reportedly available at all Westin properties, including Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai and Gurgaon.
