Planning to own a flat in Delhi? You have reason to cheer. The Government-owned National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) plans to sell around 2,000 flats in South Delhi to the general public.
“This is part of project being developed on the CPWD land at Ghitorni in South Delhi. Apart from the commercial space, this project will have 10,000 dwelling units and 80 per cent of these will be for Government accommodation, while the remaining will be sold to the general public,” Anoop Kumar Mittal, Chairman and Managing Director of NBCC, told reporters here. The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) owns 240 hectares in the area.
These flats will be a combination of studio apartments to multi-room apartments. The rates are yet to be finalised. But one thing is clear, “It will not be costlier than the private developers,” Mittal claimed, while hoping that being a project from Government-owned company, with assured timely delivery and no possibility of any hidden charge, will help in getting a good response. The construction is expected to begin in this financial year itself, he said.
