The Special Court hearing the 2G spectrum case dismissed the application of the Managing Director of Unitech Wireless (Tamil Nadu) Ltd, Mr Sanjay Chandra, to go overseas for the treatment of his son.
Mr Chandra is an accused in the case. His nine-year-old son is suffering from diabetes. Stating that the doctor has given him appointment for December 27, Mr Chandra said he wanted to go abroad between December 24 and 29 during the court's winter vacation and had sought the court's permission on humanitarian grounds since it was a ‘medical emergency'.
However, the Special Public Prosecutor, Mr U.U. Lalit, representing the CBI, opposed his application on the grounds that the investigation on the money trail in the 2G case was continuing.
