The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has said that six companies have expressed interest for storing crude oil in the Pudur strategic petroleum reserve.
“In response to the preliminary EoI (Expression of Interest) floated by ISPRL (Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserve Ltd), six companies namely BP, Shell, Goldman Sachs, Trafigura, MRPL and HPCL had expressed their in-principle interest in participating in filling the caverns,” the Petroleum Ministry told the Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Gas.
But clarity on issues such as strategic and commercial break up, and applicable tax structure need to be finalised, the Ministry added.
