The Calcutta High Court on Friday granted anticipatory bail to Ms Preeti Surekha, a Director of the AMRI Hospitals. Over 90 people (mostly patients) died following a fire at the hospital's unit in Dhakuria in December last year. A division bench granted the bail prayer of Ms Surekha, who was one of the three directors against who an arrest warrant was issued following the fire. She, along with two other directors, however, were absconding since then and could not be arrested. All directors of the hospital arrested in connection with the case have already been granted bail in the case.
