The South India Jewellery Show will be inaugurated in Bangalore on Saturday.
The annual event, which started in 2007, is a B2B jewellery event. It is organised by The Art of Jewellery magazine, and supported by the All India Gem and Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF), the Jewellers Association-Bengaluru and other trade bodies in South India.
Mr Sumesh Wadhera, Convenor of the show and Director of GJF, said, “We have over 3,000 registered retailers and 120 exhibitors and expect participation from over 8,000 retailers. We have the festival and wedding season lined up, starting with Vishu and Tamil New Year Day, followed by Easter and Akshaya Tritiya. These festivals mark a special day in a traditional country like ours where buying gold and marking a new start is considered auspicious. Thus, the show gives an apt opportunity to the jeweller's community to stock up inventory.”
