In order to optimise the exploitation of solar power and to promote commercial marketing of solar accessories, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, has issued guidelines for installation of solar applications under Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission.
Speaking to Business Line here recently, Mr R. Shankar Narayan, Assistant General Manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard), Madurai, said the Ministry will provide 30 per cent subsidy and 50 per cent loan to the beneficiary channelised through Nabard.
He said that in order to implement it through banks, Nabard has formulated guidelines in consultation with MNRE. The units could be located both in urban and rural areas and models could be home lighting systems or inverter based systems capable of handling general AC loads.
