Centum Learning is in the race for Andhra Pradesh Government's tender for imparting vocational training to urban youth in the municipalities.
“We are hoping to close the deal with the Government to impart training to about 10,000 to 15,000 urban youth in various skills,'' Ms Kamini Prasad, Chief Operating Officer (Professional Education & Training), Centum Learning, told Business Line here on Wednesday.
The New Delhi-based skill-development training provider had already provided training to 100 youth under the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
The training will be given in business process outsourcing-related skills, mobile phone repairing, retail store and hospitality management and telesales of financial services.
Centum is also planning to add about 50 centres to its existing network of 150 centres in 90 cities across India by end of current financial year, Ms Prasad said. The main focus on the company as of now is on corporate training.
“Last year alone, we have imparted training to over two lakh people for corporate clientele across industries. Our clients included Maruti and Skoda,'' she said.
