Citi on Thursday announced a new Advisory Board for its Indian operations. The new Advisory Board, to be headed by Mr Victor Menezes, former Senior Vice-Chairman of Citigroup Inc, will provide independent counsel to Citi's management team in India on a broad spectrum of strategic matters.
The other members of the board are Mr Pradeep V Bhide, former Revenue Secretary, Dr Anil Menon, President Globalisation and Smart+Connected Communities, Cisco Systems Inc, Mr Harish Manwanu, President, Asia, Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, Unilever and Mr Nanoo Pamnani, former CEO of Citibank India.
Also, Mr Shirish Apte, CEO of Citibank Asia Pacific, and Mr Pramit Jhaveri, CEO of Citibank India, will join the board as Citi representatives.
The strength of the board is a demonstration of India's importance in Citi's strategy for emerging markets, according to a Citi statement.
The charter of the India Advisory Board encompasses providing counsel on matters related to developing the corporate and consumer franchise, distribution strategy, brand building and positioning and talent development, the statement added.
