The second batch of 66 students of the Indian Institute of Management-Shillong were today awarded certificates at the institute's second convocation here.

Addressing the convocation, the CMD of Power Grid Corporation of India, Mr S.K. Chaturvedi, who was the chief guest said IIM-Shillong is emerging as a leader in the field of management education in the country.

“The farsightedness and positivity of the institute in creating a niche for itself as one of the most tech savvy campuses in the country,” he said.

Mr Manav Jain bagged the Rathindranath Dutta Gold Medal for the highest cumulative grade point average of the year, besides receiving the Ashoke K Dutta Gold Medal for all-round performance.

Ms Sakshi Sharma received the institute's medal for standing second, while Ms Shweta Srivastava and Mr Hitesh Gulath were awarded medal for positive contribution to campus life and Math Finance AG Gold Medal respectively.
