Mr J. N. Amrolia, Director on the board of Ashok Leyland John Deere Construction Equipment Company, has taken over as the Chief Executive Officer of Chennai Business School (CBS).
Mr Amrolia is also the Chairman of HR Varsity and member of the Governing Council of CBS. l. Previously, he had headed the HR function at Ashok Leyland. He was the first Executive Director, HR, Ashok Leyland, in a tenure spanning over three decades.
He is actively associated with a number of industry and professional bodies. He has chaired various committees for the Confederation of Indian Industry. He has served as President for the Indian Society for Training and Development and the Employer’s Federation of Southern India.
An economics graduate from Bombay University, Mr Amrolia also holds a Master’s degree in personnel management from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and a Diploma in Systems Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute.
Founded in 2006, CBS is a management institution run by industry professionals. It runs one-year full-time courses with specialisation in retail, marketing, banking and financial services, HR and international management. The management school’s integrated residential campus at Sri City, near Chennai will go operational by 2013 for a full-fledged two-year MBA programme.
