The Karnataka High Court today adjourned to April 11 a petition filed by the Endosulphan Manufacturer’s Association challenging the ban imposed by the State Government on use of the pesticide.
When the petition came up before Mr Justice B.S. Patil, the Government advocate filed his objections. The petitioner then sought time till April 11 to file a rejoinder to which the court agreed and adjourned the case.
The association had filed the petition last month praying for a direction to the State Government not to ban the production and sale of endosulphan in the state.
On February 17, the State Government imposed a 60-day ban on sale, manufacture and use of endosulphan, and appealed to the Centre to ban the pesticide permanently.
