Jewellers in Karnataka are to observe ‘State jewellery bundh' on March 25. They are protesting the increase in VAT rates on jewellery and gem stones from one per cent to two per cent. On that day, the jewellers will be staging a “dharna” in front of Mahatma Gandhi Statue, M.G. Road from 11.30 a.m., after which a procession to Vidhana Soudha will be taken to submit the grievances to the Chief Minister.
