Funds for investment in energy-saving measures in plant and machinery are available but there is lack of awareness among micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) about the potential financial schemes available and prevailing technologies for the purpose, said Mr N.B. Narjaree, General Manager, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Coimbatore.
Speaking to Business Line here recently, he said that such investments while help to reduce costs, enhance energy efficiency and improve profitability of the units in the long run.
SIDBI has financing schemes for energy-saving projects for the sector, assisted by a line of credit from Japan, France and Germany.
