Mild tremors were felt in some parts of Krishna, Guntur and Khammam districts of Andhra Pradesh around noon today, triggering panic among the people.
Nandigama and Kanchakacharla in Krishna district, Amaravati and Kosure in Guntur district and Madhira in Khammam district reported tremors between 12.25 and 12.30 p.m., locals said.
People ran out of houses as vibrations were felt five times in a short span. No casualty or damage has, however, been reported.
The tremors were not recorded on the Richter scale, as they were under 2.8 magnitude, said a senior scientist from the National Geological Research Institute, Hyderabad.
