The State Industries Minister, Mr Elamaram Kareem, will inaugurate the Kinfra Standard design factory buildings at Kinfra Industries Park campus at Koratty near Thrissur on Sunday (February 27).

The Standard design factory buildings being constructed by Kinfra at the Small Industries Park at Koratty are ready for occupation.

The park is built with assistance from the Union Government on 30acres acquired by way of transfer from the Central Government press.

The State Government had declared the park as an industrial area under the single-window clearance scheme. As many as 33 units have been allotted space in the park and no land is available for further allotment.

Following persistent enquiries for putting up new industrial units, it was proposed to construct standard design factory buildings on either side of the entrance.

These buildings are four storied with total area of 37,000 sq m. Each floor having a height of 3.6 metres, with key infrastructure such as road access, power and water connections, passenger and cargo lifts.

Kinfra intends to allot the space in these buildings to prospective industrial units.

Kinfra is a statutory body formed by the State Government in 1993 by an Act of the State legislature. Its main aim is to facilitate the development of industrial infrastructure in the State.

The industrial parks developed by Kinfra have facilities such as developed land or built-up space, dedicated power, continuous water supply, round-the-clock security and communication facilities, thus providing a ready-made manufacturing environment for easy launch of industrial units within limited time and cost

Kinfra has completed 20 theme-based industrial parks in the State in areas such as garments, infotainment, marine and seafood, rubber exports, electronics, textiles, biotechnology, food processing, and small-scale industries.
