Representatives of 27 companies from outside Mizoram today attended the one-day investors' meet here and showed interest in investing in power, hotel and hospitality, food processing and forest and agro-based industries, an official statement said.
Inaugurating the meet, the State Industries Minister, Mr S. Hiato, said the peaceful situation in Mizoram was conducive for investment and unexploited potential and resources would be a boon to investments.
Mr Hiato said that exemption of Central VAT and income tax and also transport and capital subsidies would benefit the investors in the State. The representatives of business houses made detailed discussions with different departments regarding potential sectors in the State.
