The Mizoram Chief Minister, Mr Lal Thanhawla, and representatives of the Medical Council of India (MCI) today decided to set up the first medical college in State by 2012, an official statement said.
Mr Thanhawla said that the present referral hospital premises at Falkawn village, about 20 km south from State capital, would be an ideal place for setting up the proposed medical college.
The Chief Minister urged the expert team led by MCI member, Prof S.K. Basu, to expedite preparation of the detailed project report and constitute a society to implement the project.
