Prof. Mrinal K. Sen has been appointed as the new Director of the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), a part of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. Before joining NGRI, Prof. Sen was a Jackson Chair in Applied Seismology, Institute for Geophysics, University of Texas at Austin.
He took over last week from Dr Y.J. Bhaskar Rao, who was the acting director, a release from the Institute said.
