Prime Minister Narendra Modi is travelling to Japan on August 31 for an official visit, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Friday.
During the visit which will end on September 3, Modi will have an audience with the Emperor of Japan and hold the annual summit meeting between the two countries with the Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe.
The Japanese Foreign office also announced that Shinzo Abe will host a dinner for the visiting dignitary.
The visit of Modi takes forward a string of high-level visits between the two countries with the Japanese Prime Minister coming to India in January this year as the Chief Guest for the Republic Day celebrations.
