Tamil Nadu has achieved the distinction of having the second highest number of foreign tourists in the country.
According to a release from the Ministry of Tourism, 28 lakh foreign tourists visited Tamil Nadu in 2010.
The first place goes to Maharashtra which had recorded 51 lakh foreign visits in 2010.
In respect of domestic tourist visits, Tamil Nadu is in the third place, recording 11.6 crore domestic visits in 2010.Andhra Pradesh has recorded the highest in terms of domestic tourist visits, recording 15.52 crore visitors in 2010.
