The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Hubli chapter has floated ‘HR cell' to take up human resources related challenges in north Karnataka.

According to Mr V.K. Mahesh, Programme Manager, TiE Hubli, “The HR cell will be based at Hubli.

The basic idea of it is to create a group and solve human resources-related issues among the organisations in the region.”

HR cell is expected to act as a platform to solve problems by eliciting best suggestions and feedback from HR experts

. Mr Jagadish Hiremath, Director, Able Design Engineering Services, has been made the Head of the HR Cell.

Mr Mahesh said HR cell will focus on attracting and retaining the talent, developing the best practices within the organisations, creating the organisation culture in the region.

Special emphasis will also be given to training and development of human resources personnel in key core areas.

Regular meeting

To take it forward, the TiE Hubli has decided to hold HR cell meeting on every second Thursday of the month.

The weekly meeting would monitor the activities and interact among the organisations on a regular basis.

Creation of ‘HR cell' for north Karnataka comes after Mr Naveen Jha, Director of the Deshpande Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, appointment to the Board of Karnataka Knowledge Commission.

The Knowledge Commission constituted in 2008, under the chairmanship of Dr K. Kasturirangan, is aimed at transforming the State into a knowledge society.

Mr Jha, who is instrumental in building Deshpande Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at Hubli, has worked on various issues related to human resources in north Karnataka.
