An earthquake of moderate intensity hit parts of North India on Monday evening. Measuring 5.7 on the Richter Scale, the earthquake had its epicentre in the India-Nepal border region. Tremors were felt for several seconds at around 5 p.m. in Delhi, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and parts of Rajasthan. However, no casualties or damage were reported immediately.
