Workshop on managing investments

Manipal Institute of Management, Manipal, organised a workshop on ‘Managing Investments Wisely' at its campus recently. A press release by the institute said here on Saturday that Mr Muralidhar Kini, chartered accountant and tax consultant, talked on issues related to risk, return and taxation. He said all investors can explore the provisions of taxation to maximise tax savings. Tax-saving is a different ball game for professionals, working executives, retired persons and housewives, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Harish, Associate, Motital Oswal Securities Ltd, said market signals are important for investors. They need to make timely decisions based on those cues. He also spoke on equity and debt investments. The pros and cons of investing in themwere also discussed. Professor P. Ramakrishna Chadaga, director of the institute, also spoke.
