Cyber and space warfare are the new emerging challenges. To face them, there is a need for a synergic approach to harness indigenous technology, said, Avinash Chander, Chief Controller, R&D (Missiles &Strategic Systems), Defence Research and Development Organisation.

India has made considerable progress in missiles, satellites and aerospace technologies, which can be leveraged to achieve cyber security and growth in aerospace industry, he told newspersons ahead of the upcoming two-day conference here.

The national convention on expanding frontiers in aerospace technologies during November 24-25 will bring together engineers, students, academia and industry to exchange views and firm up ideas and projects for mutual benefit.

The convention is being organised by the Institution of Engineers, AP Centre. Some of the subjects that will be deliberated will be technologies such as hypersonics, interplanetary missions, space warfare, advanced designs and novel propulsion concepts.

The scientific adviser to Defence Minister V.K. Saraswat will inaugurate the conference on November 24.

India has launched Agni-V, the inter-continental ballistic missile, while the Indian space scientists have launched the Chandrayaan-1 mission to moon and are preparing to launch mission to Mars called Mangalyaan in 2013. These projects have major contributions from aerospace community and will be discussed.
