Consignment of 14,000 tonnes of potash will arrive in Tamil Nadu in a couple of days and then it would be supplied to all districts for use of farmers, the Tamil Nadu Agriculture Minister, Mr K.A. Sengottiyan, said.
He was speaking after inaugurating a paddy procurement centre (PPC) at Polavakalipalayam near Gobichettipalayam yesterday.
The Minister also warned that action would be taken against fertiliser dealers if they hoard without supplying them to farmers.
Nine PPCs would function in Gobichettipalayam, Bhavani and Sathyamangalam taluks where the farmers may sell their paddy said the Minister.
District Collector Mr C. Kamaraj was also present.
