In all, 80 per cent of the offer at Sale No: 19 of the auctions of Coonoor Tea Trade Association was sold with the average price crashing to ₹83.51 a kg – the lowest so far this calendar. Homedale Estate’s Broken Orange Pekoe grade, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped the Leaf auction and the CTC market when Shyam Vittal and Co bought it for ₹231 a kg. Another leaf grade of Homedale Estate, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, followed at ₹205. In the CTC Dust tea market, two grades of Homedale Estate, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped at ₹225 and ₹200. In the orthodox tea market, Kodanad topped the market at ₹264 followed by Corsley ₹203.
