Around 90 per cent of the offer at Sale No: 31 of the auctions of Coonoor Tea Trade Association was sold despite the average price rising to ₹84.90 a kg from the last week’s ₹83.06 due to better demand. This was the highest price in the last 13 weeks.
Homedale Estate’s Super Red Dust, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped the entire CTC auctions when Om Enterprises bought it for ₹253 a kg. Homedale Estate’s two other Dust tea grades, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped at ₹238 and ₹237.
Among orthodox teas, Kodanad topped at ₹277 a kg. Chamraj got ₹248 and Glendale ₹221. All others got less than ₹200/kg.
