As much as 95 per cent of 10.68 lakh kg offered for Sale No: 47 of Coonoor Tea Trade Association was sold despite the average price rising to ₹101.13 a kg from previous week’s ₹99.37 due to increased demand from upcountry buyers. Homedale Estate’s Pekoe Dust, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped the Dust tea auction and the entire CTC market when Paras Tea Co bought it for ₹228 a kg. Homedale Estate’s Super Red Dust, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, followed at ₹217. Darmona Estate’s Broken Orange Pekoe Small grade topped the CTC Leaf tea auction at ₹203/kg. In the orthodox market, Chamraj topped at ₹249 a kg, followed by Kodanad ₹236, Kairbetta ₹231 and Havukal ₹228.
