The West Bengal government on Friday decided to give a Rs 33-crore subsidy on fertiliser prices.
“We will provide Rs 33 crore to the farmers of West Bengal as subsidy on fertilisers, effective this kharif season,” the State Finance Minister, Mr Amit Mitra, told the State Assembly.
“This (the subsidy) will go a long way in controlling the potential rise in price of fertiliser in the State,” he added.
